Way back in the day, before there was even such a thing as 'blogging,' I had a small Web page on the home.cwru.edu server which I updated every so often with writings, observations, and links. It was something like a protoblog, for a simpler time. I think Neil and his periodic girlfriend Sheryl were the only regular readers.
In any event, one thing I liked to do on that protoblog was infringe the copyright of the Little Calendar of Zen, by putting up Zen quotes that moved me. I've bought myself another
Little Calendar of Zen for 2006, and I think I'll be infringing its copyright as well. The title of this post is January 1, 2006, a quote from Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche.
Here's January 4, 2006. It's a haiku from Ching An:
The laugh's on me:
this year's man
is last year's man.
