The Nov. 8th
New Yorker -- I told you I was catching up -- had a number of good stories in it, including a readable
short story by Jonathan Franzen and an interesting piece on the
prehistory of Nancy Drew, but pound for pound the winner that week is Louis Menand's
book review of
Ask Not, which examines the origins of JFK's famous inaugural speech.
I'm gonna get through this stack eventually.
