One thing I did get a chance to do today is check out the new
Bruce Springsteen Storytellers DVD, which is just about the greatest thing I ever saw. His explication of "Devils & Dust" alone is worth whatever it costs to get this DVD to your house and into your player, and then there's over an hour left. The very next song was "Blinded by the Light." Halleujah.
Along the way, among the many little joys of hearing the Boss talk about the Boss, you'll hear Bruce get a little metaphysical as he talks his way out of getting caught by disappointed fans outside a strip club. (Paraphrase: Fans: "You're not supposed to be here." Bruce: "I'm not here. I'm just a manifestation of Springsteen's subconscious that appears sporadically all over Jersey. Bruce doesn't even know I'm here. He is at home right now, doing good deeds.")
If you want more info, including the set list, here's a great
review from someone who was live on the scene.
It's available from
Netflix. Don't walk, run.
